My initial thought was, "Oh, even Clarice from The Silence of the Lambs gets called an 'old lady' eventually..." Although it turned out Jodie Foster was made up to look much older than she actually was, I was still shocked by her aged look and realized that no one can stay 27 forever. I know, I know—you probably think I'm an idiot or something.
The film itself was yet another action-packed American movie full of explosions, blood, violence, and fire.
In Japanese films, most issues are swept under the fug or fudged by just sitting and talking, monologuing on a riverbank, or sharing a hearty meal. In this type of American film, on the other hand, everything is resolved with firearms and explosives. I couldn't help but have the word "NRA" pop into my head.
If you watch Japanese movies, you might think we are wimpy and indecisive. But personally, I think being a bit wimpy is much better than getting injured or killed... don't you think?
