I feel like I’ve seen the darkest and most decadent side of show business through this show...
"Ace" looked like Ace, but the impression was somewhat crude, so I could recognize the lookalike as a lookalike—which was a kind of solace. I don't think anyone could perfectly imitate the walking and rough play of the original in the first place.
Meanwhile, ”Peter” looked rather creepy. Even his voice sounded so much like the real deal's. I thought, "Oh, AI Peter? Or Holo-Peter?"—even though it was 2010.
I had heard about the band's infighting and their corporate employment structure, but I didn't think the original members' dignity and creativity were trampled on to this extent... In 2010, both of them were still alive and active in the industry.
Gene tends to be regarded as the bully, but what about Paul? Is Paul entirely innocent? Don't be silly! The Starchild may be even more sinful because of his role as the cheerful champion of justice.
By the way, don't you think he overdramatizes his guitar-destroying performance? The frontman doesn’t have to act so stingy when the band makes massive money from a single show. The cost of that guitar should be next to nothing to him!
In the end, I began to feel John Lydon (FKA Johnny Rotten), who once said, "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated? Good night," was far healthier and more honest.
