I would translate the title as "Breakfasts of the Legends."
This is a documentary series that I found to be a perfect background video while ironing.
The films simply depict people's breakfast routines—from taking ingredients out of the fridge to setting the table and washing up—accompanied with brief interviews and greeting to the viewers. Without exaggerated sound or visual effects, the series sometimes candidly reveals some awkward aspects of the subjects' lives despite their best efforts to look presentable: messy cupboards, age spots on shaky hands, or stained cutting boards. Even when they try to dress up or put on makeup before breakfast, picky viewers like me can’t help but notice these authentic realities.
The most engaging and comforting part is that watching it makes me feel much better about my own breakfast habits. In a way, I feel liberated—I don't need to eat a heap of vegetables at every single meal. Honestly, as far as I can recall, almost no one in this series eats a nutritionally perfect breakfast. One person had salted salmon, miso soup, umeboshi, and salted squid all in one sitting (an astronomical amount of sodium!), while another ate sashimi, sashimi, and more sashimi with barely any vegetables. I couldn't help but think, "The 'ASUKEN' lady is going to have a lot to say about this..."
